I'm an online marketing guy who's very passionate about good design, the monetizable web and wireless routers. You may know me. If unsure, you can always Google me.
I now work for a telco company as an online strategist where I'm constantly in search new ideas to make the web more fun, better and more profitable. I find it fascinating how millions of people spend billions of dollars on anything from Jumbo Jets to $1 Facebook virtual gifts online.
Last year I had a dear idea, a million dollar social internet experiment to find out if I could raise a million dollars online and prove it can be done!
Any, absolutely any idea is worth a million dollars if it can be proven in cash, checks, gold, oil or whatever.
My idea is to get a buck from a million random internet people and offer virtually nothing in return.
Hold it! Not quite! I'll email a neat $1 pixel bling to everyone that can be posted on a blog to spread the word and herald the contribution. :)
To keep things simple everything else except the big green button is in excess. I arranged my visitors to find a big 'Give Dan $1 now' button to help make it happen!
I probably won't have a chance to buy those who top up lunch, but it could prove the web is a place where reaching a million people to prove a point is not impossible.
And will definitely keep me busy sending a million "thank you" emails! :) Make sure you read that FAQ before you jump in!
